Interpol issues red notice for Ukrainian woman over Monaco bomb attack

Interpol has issued a red notice for a Ukrainian woman over a bomb attack in Monaco earlier this week.

The organisation named 39-year-old Anastasiia Berezovska as the main suspect in the bombing, which took place on Monday evening and left multiple people injured. Ukrainian business tycoon Vadym Yermolaiev was reportedly one of those wounded in the attack.

The alert says Berezovska speaks German, has dark hair, and has a tattoo - possibly of a snake - on her upper right arm.

A red notice requests law enforcement around the world to locate and provisionally arrest an individual. It is not an international arrest warrant.

On Friday, the Monaco public prosecutor's office shared new details about the attack on the wealthy city-state.

A prosecutor told reporters that the suspect had been sitting on a bench in the Place des Moulins before placing an explosive device outside the building in which the victims were staying as they returned from a dinner.

"The individual turned round to check that the three victims were there and then used a remote control to trigger the explosion," they said, adding that the suspect had carried out "several reconnaissance missions" in the days leading up to the bombing.

Investigators subsequently identified a car with German number plates believed to have been used by the suspect, who prosecutors say disguised herself as a man to carry out the attack. The car was traced through Monaco, France, and into Italy, the prosecutor added.

It comes as German police reportedly announced that they had searched the home of a Ukrainian woman suspected of being involved in the attack.

"The rented apartment of a 39-year-old Ukrainian woman in the Main-Taunus district was searched on Thursday," police said, per AFP.
