Four high-wire artists rehearse above Jerusalem's Hinnom Valley ahead of the 65th Israel Festival, paying tribute to Philippe Petit's 1987 crossing.

During the final dress rehearsal for the 65th Israel Festival, four high-wire artists crossed cables suspended above Jerusalem's Hinnom Valley as spectators watched from below.

Staged along the seam between East and West Jerusalem, the performance pays tribute to French high-wire artist Philippe Petit, who famously crossed the same valley during the opening of the 1987 festival.

The footage follows performer Jonathan Tabachnik and fellow artists as they balance high above the valley, prepare their equipment and step carefully onto the wires.

The opening event combines music and aerial performance, revisiting a landmark moment in the festival's history ahead of this year's official opening.
