It’s not coming home... and Mick knows it.
Rolling Stones' frontman Mick Jagger has gone viral over his reaction to England's loss in the World Cup semi-finals last night.
Jagger attended the game between England and Argentina yesterday, which ended in a 2-1 loss for England, who were hoping to play their first World Cup final since 1966.
Footage captured of Jagger reacting to Enzo Fernández's equalising goal has spread across the internet and sees Jagger shaking his head in disappointment.
The video has resonated with fans, with one claiming: “Mick Jagger speaks for the nation”.
Check out the video below and the reactions to Jagger’s instant meme sensation:
Some England fans have jokingly suggested that Mick Jagger – like Donald Trump – could be “cursed” and a bad omen for football – referring to the fact that the legendary musician has been present at several matches resulting in losses.
For instance, Jagger was present at England’s loss to Croatia in the 2018 semi-final, and again during the 2010 World Cup, when England were defeated 4-1 by Germany.
Slight snag when it comes to this theory: Jagger was watching England beat Norway 2-1.
Elsewhere, the Rolling Stones released their 25th album last week, 'Foreign Tongues'.
In Euronews Culture's review, we said: "'Foreign Tongues’ is not only a step up from 2023's ‘Hackney Diamonds’ but also a potent reminder that it may not be the years nor the mileage that count when it comes to Jagger, Richards and Wood. It’s the desire to keep their enthusiasm alive."

England will face off against France in the World Cup third-place match on Saturday. The World Cup final takes place on Sunday, with Argentina playing Spain.
