French and Spanish firefighters work together to tackle wildfires in Spain's Aragon region, where more than 17,000 hectares have burned.
French and Spanish firefighters worked together on Monday to contain a wildfire in the San Juan de la Peña y Monte Oroel natural reserve in Spain's Aragon region.
French firefighters from the Military Civil Security Formations (ForMiSC) joined their Spanish counterparts as fires spread across northeastern Spain. The blazes have burned more than 17,000 hectares in Aragon, according to authorities.
A Spanish soldier helping with firefighting operations was killed in the fires. Crews continue to tackle the flames and protect affected areas.
