Quevedo overtakes Rosalía as most-streamed Spanish artist on Spotify

With an estimated 33,922,381 monthly listeners on the Spotify platform as of the publication date of this article, the artist Quevedo, who identifies with Canarian culture although he was born in Madrid and raised in Brazil until the age of four, has become the most listened-to artist both in the islands and on the Iberian Peninsula.

The creator of 'La Graciosa' and 'El Bafio' now ranks ahead of Rosalía (with 26,999,894 plays in the past month, according to the latest estimates) and Rels B (23,439,003). "I always write from the context of Las Palmas and the islands," he said in a recent interview with the Canary Islands public broadcaster. "That makes me feel free, and feeling free makes me feel good".

The urban artist shot to fame four summers ago thanks to a track released during one of the popular sessions with Argentine DJ BZRP, session number 52. This success with audiences also earned him a Latin Grammy in 2023, where it was also nominated in the category of Best Urban Fusion/Performance.
