Spain witnessed a rare total solar eclipse on Wednesday, with the phenomenon visible from parts of the country for the first time in more than a century.
In Getxo, in the Basque Country, the eclipse was seen with the Port of Bilbao in the background. The moon passed directly between the Earth and the sun, blocking the sun’s light and briefly darkening the daytime sky.
The event was one of the most anticipated astronomical spectacles visible from Spain in decades, offering striking views along the country’s northern coast.
