Hundreds of residents gathered in the southwestern French town of Fleurance on Saturday to take part in a silent march honouring Lyhanna, the 11-year-old schoolgirl whose death has shocked the nation.

At the front of the march, family members carried banners reading "Lyhanna: Never Again!" and "Lyhanna, never again! We love you. We miss you."

The messages reflected both the community's grief and growing demands for accountability following revelations surrounding the judicial history of the main suspect in the case.

The march drew residents of all ages, many standing silently along the route before joining the procession. Journalists, elected officials, and local leaders accompanied the family.

Lyhanna's death has sparked widespread emotion across France and fueled criticism over what some view as failures in the handling of previous allegations involving minors linked to the suspect.
