The eldest son of the Andic family has told Mango employees that he is giving up his responsibilities as vice-chairman of the fashion company founded by his father, who is the subject of an investigation into his alleged murder at the hands of Jonathan himself.

However, he has insisted that he will maintain his "family, social and business projects" in the open letter he has sent to the company founded by Isak Andic. This Turkish-Catalan businessman fell, or was pushed, down a 100-metre embankment on the Salnitre caves trail in Collbató, on the southern side of the Montserrat mountain range in Barcelona, in December 2024.

Both Jonathan and Sarah and Judith Andic Raig, his younger sisters, control 95% of Mango through the family conglomerate Punta Na Holding, based on Passeig de Gràcia in Barcelona and comprising several companies and a private equity fund shared between the three. The accused is, in principle, not relinquishing these corporate roles and is only stepping down from the vice-chairmanship, which does not involve executive functions.

"I write these words with sincerity and humility, from the pain, powerlessness and frustration of finding myself faced with a narrative of alleged guilt that does not reflect reality," the eldest son says in the statement released. "[I must] live with the gravest, most unjust and unfounded accusation that can be levelled at a person."

Jonathan is currently free on bail, set at one million euros, after his arrest and statement before the judge in Martorell, Raquel Nieto, who is investigating the case. His defence has already said it will file an appeal against the remand order for the alleged parricide before Thursday.
