The Baku Security Forum brought together security and intelligence officials from different countries to discuss counterterrorism, emerging threats and stronger international cooperation.
Security threats are increasingly crossing national borders, making international cooperation more important in addressing terrorism, cyber attacks and other emerging challenges. The Baku Security Forum brought together security and intelligence officials from different countries to discuss how greater cooperation can address these threats. Participants focused on counterterrorism, cyber threats and the changing ways terrorist networks use technology and operate across borders.
Azerbaijan highlighted international peace and security, mutual trust and cooperation as key priorities, while a side event with the UN Office of Counterterrorism examined operational partnerships and national counterterrorism capabilities. Discussions also looked at information-sharing and the need for security agencies to work together before new threats escalate, with participants stressing that no country can tackle terrorism and other cross-border threats alone.
