The famous 666 bus route to the Polish town of Hel is officially back after being dropped in 2023 over concerns about its satanic associations, delighting curious passengers and tourists.
The iconic bus route 666 has returned to Poland, once again taking passengers from Kraków to the Baltic seaside town of Hel after a two-year absence. The route number was changed to 669 in 2023 following complaints from Christian groups over its association with the "number of the beast."
Now relaunched by FlixBus, the service has quickly regained its cult appeal. Some passengers boarded simply for the novelty of travelling on bus 666 to Hel, with one joking it was the "Highway to Hell."
Others admitted they were superstitious, saying they would avoid travelling on a bus with such a number.
The more than 13-hour route has become a tourist attraction in its own right, drawing visitors from across Poland eager to experience one of the country's most unusual journeys.
