The Israeli military has released video it says shows the destruction of an underground tunnel route in the southern Gaza Strip.
The army said the tunnel was approximately 2 kilometres long and that the route had been dismantled as part of its operations in the area. The footage, provided by the Israeli military, could not be independently verified.
The war began on 7 October 2023, when Hamas-led militants attacked Israel, killing around 1,200 people and taking 251 hostages, according to Israeli authorities. Israel’s subsequent offensive has killed at least 73,922 Palestinians, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry, part of the Hamas-run government.
